Overview
Manufactured by Germany’s ORBILAN using state-of-the-art production techniques and accumulated raw material know-how, ORBILAN UHMWPE is a product recognized worldwide for its superior technology and quality in the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene industry.
Characteristics
- Highest Impact Resistance
Among plastic materials, UHMWPE offers the highest impact resistance.
- Exceptional Wear Resistance
UHMWPE surpasses engineering plastics such as POM and Nylon 6 as well as stainless steel in abrasion resistance.
- Self-Lubricating
It has a very low coefficient of friction—only 0.07 without lubrication. When lubricated, the coefficient can go as low as 0.04
- Chemical Resistance
UHMWPE withstands approximately 80 types of chemicals. It is not affected by most corrosive substances, except for strong acids like concentrated sulfuric and nitric acid.
- Extremely Low Moisture Absorption
Ideal for environments where contact with water is common.
- Continuous Use Temperature
80°C
- Low-Temperature Use
-100°C
- Cryogenic Properties
Continuous use at cryogenic temperatures down to -270°C, while maintaining excellent impact and wear resistance.
- Non-Toxic
Safe for direct contact with food. Certified by the FDA.
