ANTAREX V-0 polycarbonate offers better fire safety for facility protection than general V-2 polycarbonate, and its enhanced weather resistance makes it suitable for outdoor use.

V-0 and V-2 are flammability ratings in the UL 94 standard, the safety standard for the flammability of plastic materials used in devices and appliances.
They are determined by a vertical burn test in which a specimen is exposed to a controlled flame. The lower the number, the better the flame retardancy, so V-0 is a higher rating than V-2.
The advantage of ANTAREX V-0 polycarbonate is clear when compared with V-2 polycarbonate in the UL 94 flammability table.

A very stringent rating. The material self-extinguishes within 10 seconds of flame exposure and produces no flaming drips that could spread fire to other materials — suited to electronics, automotive components and aerospace, where flame spread and secondary ignition must be prevented.
A lower level of flame retardancy than V-0. The material self-extinguishes, but can take up to 30 seconds and may produce flaming drips that ignite materials below. It suits applications that need some flame retardancy where the risk of spread from dripping is acceptable or manageable.
The difference lies in self-extinguishing time and, more importantly, whether flaming drips are allowed. V-0 offers a higher degree of fire safety by minimising fire spread from burning droplets.
