POMAcetal (polyoxymethylene)

Acetal (POM) is a crystalline thermoplastic and a representative engineering plastic, with excellent mechanical strength, optical and thermal properties, and moldability. It is widely used in electrical, automotive, machinery, construction materials and functional consumer goods. It has the best friction and wear resistance of any thermoplastic and is self-lubricating, so it is common in non-lubricated parts.

Features

  • Continuous service temperature −45 to 95℃

Excellent short-term thermal properties such as melting point and heat deflection temperature, and outstanding durability in long-term use in hot air and hot water.

  • Chemical resistance

Highly durable against inorganic chemicals and oils.

  • Creep resistance

Excellent creep resistance over a wide temperature range, with almost no deformation in various oils and chemicals.

  • Fatigue resistance

Withstands repeated impact and continuous vibration without fatigue and keeps stable performance.

  • Friction and wear resistance

The best friction and wear resistance among thermoplastics, plus self-lubrication, make it widely used for non-lubricated parts.

  • Mechanical properties over a wide temperature range

A balanced combination of tensile strength, elongation and impact strength that is retained under long-term load.
